My guest Ailbhe Griffith is an advocate for restorative justice in cases of serious violence, including sexual violence, as well as an Ambassador for Restorative Justice International (RJI). She explains how the restorative justice mediation process changed her life for the better and why the criminal justice system failed her. She also talks about how she needed to confront the man who sexually assaulted her and how she prepared to meet him. She goes on to explain how women can support each other in similar situations and why she chose to play herself in the film ‘The Meeting’(see link below to watch it). Ailbhe has spoken publicly about her experience, travelling domestically and internationally to various restorative justice conferences and criminal justice events. Her goal is to promote restorative justice as an additional mechanism of justice for victims of violence.
