My guest John Sturrock is an internationally recognized commercial mediator and a “thought leader” in the area of mediation. He is also the Founder and CEO of Core Solutions advocating better conversations and better outcomes. John talks about how principles of mediation should be more commonly used in public services and contrasts the airline industry’s no-fault approach in the 1970’s with the health sector where the pressure on staff deserves recognition. He goes on to talk about why the social and political arena needs mediation, his concerns about climate change and how mediators can be more environmentally conscious.
He also talks about his NHS Highlands report that was commissioned by the Scottish Parliament, the impact of Covid and his ‘Green Pledge’ which he hopes will encourage people to use online platforms to reduce unnecessary work-related travel. Lastly, we discuss his podcast and the positive feedback he has had on it.
