Mediator, Trainer, Activist
Dr. David Silvera has been involved in the movement to introduce and develop mediation as an alternative form of dispute resolution in Israel since 1998. He established a center for dispute resolution and training; served as an academic director in the School for Conflict Resolution as well as a court-appointed mediator of a labor court in Tel Aviv. He became the chairman of the Israeli Chamber of Mediators and served as Editor-in-Chief of Sulcha, Israel’s mediation portal.
Dr. Silvera has endeavored to address the issue of intercultural tension and ethnic polarization in Israeli society. He is one of the founders of the Israeli Branch of the International Association for Multy Track Diplomacy based in the USA. He has lectured at Israel’s Open University since 1989 and currently is a lecturer of Mediation and Conflict Resolution at Tel Aviv University.
